Marisa Kabasinskas Saliga , Chairwoman

Marisa Kabasinskas (she/her/hers), Senior Vice President of Business Transformation & Operations Management, Interpublic, is the new Chairwoman of the GlamourGals Board of Directors.

“Having been involved with GlamourGals for over 15 years, I am honored and excited to take on the Chair role.  I am grateful that I have the opportunity to help guide GlamourGals to its next phase, providing strategic direction and operational support.

As a part of the Advisory Board in the past, and a current member of the Board of Directors, being able to help Rachel and GlamourGals expand its presence and awareness is a thrilling next step in my involvement with the organization.

The vision Rachel had as a young adult -- to connect and spend time with the elderly who are not able to have as many daily, personal interactions with their loved ones -- and to do this through the power of beauty makeovers never ceases to amaze me.  GlamourGals is unique in that the program is so beneficial to all involved. While the girls learn compassion, leadership, respect, and so many other core qualities that will help them throughout their lives, the ones they touch receive so much more than we can ever imagine.

I can always connect to the mission of GlamourGals on a personal level.

For those of us who have personally experienced a loved one in assisted living or a nursing home, there is some comfort in knowing that someone is making them smile.   That young girls dedicate their time to this simple act of kindness through a personal connection is such an important lesson for young women to learn and experience.

The day I met Rachel  at a women’s event where a group of unbelievable women were discussing their role in changing the landscape of breast cancer (which unto itself was amazing) was by chance.  I sat next to Rachel, who engaged in conversation and so humbly described what she did. It was just one of my lucky days.  As she described what she did “for a living,” I was amazed that a young adult was so committed to the GlamourGals vision.

I also support GlamourGals because of the way the volunteers are committed, the passion they bring to what they do, and the need they fulfill.

I had wanted to become involved in volunteer work but had not found a cause that I was interested enough in to commit to; this changed with Rachel and GlamourGals.  I was honored she asked me to be involved.  The mission continues to touch me personally in so many ways, as my relatives have grown older, some have passed, and I now have two girls of my own. I can always connect to the mission of GlamourGals on a personal level.

I am thrilled to bring my children into this organization at some point, as I realize every day how important it is for them to be compassionate, respectful, confident young ladies.  I also support GlamourGals because of the way the volunteers are committed, the passion they bring to what they do, and the need they fulfill.”
