The GlamourGals Foundation Hosts 9th Annual Glamour in the City Event: Happy Hour Just Got More Fashionable

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The GlamourGals Foundation Hosts 9th Annual Glamour in the City Event:
Happy Hour Just Got More Fashionable

NEW YORK, NY (May 31, 2013) — The 9th annual Glamour in the City will be taking place on Thursday, June 6, 2013, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at The Griffin, 50 Gansevoort Street, New York, NY, 10014. Here, New York City's trendiest philanthropists will gather to support the GlamourGals Foundation (GG). Glamour in the City is held by GG each year, with the goal of raising $25,000 towards the Hot Pink Leadership Program.

The Hot Pink Leadership Program inspires and organizes teen volunteers from the 82 GlamourGals chapters around the nation to provide compassion and companionship to local seniors.

"As the 9th annual Glamour in the City, this event is bringing together young professionals that support our cause to celebrate our accomplishments," said Kavita Mehra, vice president of GlamourGals.

Supporters and guests will enter on a hot pink carpet and door prizes will be awarded to those wearing hot pink outfits. Tanteo tequila will be sponsoring a two hour open bar featuring their signature jalapeno margaritas.

The legendary DJ Zeke Thomas will return for the second year to play the hottest dance music. (Guests were still grooving to Zeke's tunes well after the event ended last year!)

This year's chair of hosts is Jeni Leidel, a GlamourGals advisory board member, and the chair of sponsorships is Alexa Lombardo.

"I believe I set an example of self-confidence, bravery and tenacity..." Irfan

"Being a male, and entering a non-profit organization like GlamourGals, I was given many weird looks... [Because of this] I believe I set an example of self-confidence, bravery and tenacity... One day, I was at a makeover and the lady I was with, Barbara, wanted to be beautified because she was going on a date with her son. When the son came, he stood at the doorway and dropped open his mouth, and Barbara asked, "How do I look?" Shortly after she started to tear because she felt so good about herself. Barbara's son came to me and thanked me, and all the volunteers in the room for everything we were doing."
