Meet our founder
Rachel Doyle

A visionary leading GlamourGals for over 20 years, with a passion for recognizing and supporting intergenerational connections.

It is through the tools of makeup that we, GG Volunteers, are able to lift the curtain that divides two generations and provide a stage and an audience to the forgotten and the frail.

I want to end elder isolation and empower a new type of teen leader

-Rachel Doyle

FOUNDER’S HISTORY

Rachel founded the GlamourGals Foundation in 2000 as a junior in high school in honor of her grandmother who had recently passed away. She was unable to regularly visit her grandmother who lived in a senior home across the country, and she realized there were women in the senior homes in her local community who also were not receiving regular visits from their families.

As a teen who cared deeply about others, Rachel was often frustrated seeing the news only covering misbehaviors. Instead she wanted to create a way to promote and encourage positive actions amongst her peers.

She started getting other teens involved by doing what many already love - experimenting with makeup and spending time with friends. What started as a one-off event has evolved into a nationwide movement for over two decades, with Rachel evolving and innovating ways to empower beautiful connections across generations.

Rachel continues to advocate for both teens and seniors in care and as CEO, has led GlamourGals to become a powerful movement, overseeing 1,300 volunteers across 100 communities in 18 states - and growing.

Generation GlamourGals

We are fostering essential leadership skills among teen volunteers

TRAINING

It's more than just a beauty makeover! In order to prepare the volunteers for interactions with the seniors, staff and each other, each teen goes through training programs to build the confidence to lead.

MENTORSHIP

She expresses her dedication to promoting services that bridge the generation gap, persistently aiding in the development of leadership and empathy skills among the teenage volunteers at GG.

RECOGNITION

Committed to uplifting positive teens who are making a difference in the lives of others, Rachel structured GG to have several ways to recognize good deeds - all while building confidence in future leaders.

Her mission doesn’t stop here. Learn more about Rachel’s vision for the future Glammy Speech.

#GGMOVEMENT

Teen Empowerment

Driven by the desire to highlight teens making a positive impact in the world, Rachel has integrated rewards and recognition into annual GG programming throughout the year, from our Power Brunch and GG Leadership Training to the Glammy Awards celebration where teens strut a GG Hot Pink Carpet, gather with their peers and be recognized for their acts of service.

“True transformation and impact can be realized when you reflect on service. We provide tools for our teen volunteers including an opportunity to journal on their experiences.”
