First Makeover as a GlamourGals Chapter

Kylie C., President of the Torrey Pines High School Chapter, reflects on the first GG Makeover hosted by her chapter.

There was quite a successful turnout for our chapter's first makeover, we connected with over a dozen seniors! The assortment of holiday colors, fun decorations, and the addition of music in the background helped us achieve such a successful event. One thing I learned during the makeover was that keeping in touch and giving back to older family members, like parents and grandparents, makes the biggest impact on their happiness and well-being. Moving forward, I will strive to show gratefulness for those who look out for me and take care of me. For a volunteer just beginning GlamourGals, being kind and patient towards the seniors is crucial. Whether they are getting a makeover or not, all of the seniors equally deserve a friendly face to talk to.
