Enjoyable Events for All

Anisa A., the Treasurer of the Stuyvesant High School Chapter, reflects on her role in planning unique events that both volunteers and seniors will enjoy.

“As a GG volunteer with a leadership role, I make sure to attend as many events as I can and bring fun to the table! With the seniors, I love to show them things I learned, like when we had an origami event and I taught the sweet ladies with me how to make a jumping frog! We love to really connect with the seniors by doing different events each week, such as painting, board games, and cookie decorating. We had a freezie fundraiser for GG despite the oncoming rain and raised a great amount! Overall, you have to be dedicated and willing to show up with a lot of energy. It is rewarding being a GG volunteer, and I can't wait to attend many more events and make lasting memories with the seniors and my fellow volunteers.”
