My GLTI 2023 Experience

Anisa A., the Treasurer of the Stuyvesant High School Chapter, reflects on what she learned at GLTI 2023.

“This was such an impactful event full of surprises. I mingled with students from different chapters and got to exchange words with some of the most influential people, like Jessie Nichols. I’m so glad I got to meet Rachel Doyle in person and the words from these strong women made me leave feeling really inspired. I particularly enjoyed the panelist portion because it was four women (I loved Sara’s moderating and speech flow) coming from different experiences and sharing wise words with us. Cathy’s words about being the main character in your own life, and Kelly’s words about not trying to act like men and bringing out our own potential to the table, all really stuck with me. I believe that hearing the experiences of these women gave me different perspectives to look at my box and how I can step outside of it to do better as a person and as a volunteer. I took pages of notes throughout the day and the food was amazing. I am super thankful to everyone at GG and the sponsors who made this event possible!”
