GlamourGals Teams Up with ABC Studios to Write 'My Dear Friend' Cards for the Grand Premiere of The Golden Bachelor

60% of seniors in care do not receive visitors. Since 2000, GlamourGals has been working to change that.

The pandemic paused GlamourGals’ signature programming of manicures and makeovers. With a quick pivot, we launched My Dear Friend to write cards to our friends who we missed dearly. This card-writing program captures the thoughtful intention of the GlamourGals experience through hand-written cards. In just over three years, we’ve brightened the lives of seniors around the country with 100,000 cards.

This year, we hope to bring smiles to 30,000+ seniors with our handwritten cards.

Recently, members of our Advisory Council hosted a My Dear Friend card writing activation station at ABC studios in partnership ABC for the launch of The Golden Bachelor. Here’s what members of our dedicated Advisory Council had to say:

"Employees shared stories of their own family members in senior homes and were so enthusiastic about writing cards with us to send to local seniors. The Golden Mailbox was overflowing with letters by the end of the week!" - Nikita, Alumni Deputy Chair

"We’re forever grateful for this partnership, inching us one step closer to our goal of getting more than 30,000 kind notes into isolated seniors’ hands before the holidays. It’s days like these that make you remember kindness is contagious… and everyone can have a ‘heart of gold’!" - Cathy, Regional Events Deputy Chair
