My Chapter recently did a project where we applied for the Youth Service America Grant to get suncatchers and paper flower materials to make for seniors this spring. I ended up making 28 suncatchers, 39 cards, and at least 15 paper flowers. I especially loved making the suncatchers because I know how much joy it will bring to the seniors. A lesson that I learned from this experience is that you can never spread too much joy. There are always going to be people out there who need a smile, and it doesn't take much to make that happen. In the past, I didn't realize how much of an impact something as small as a card can make but I realize the importance now. The seniors don't have someone special asking about them and their day and I want to be that light in their lives because I know that I've needed it too at times.
