Looking Back On My Time in Service
Maddie L, a recent Vanderbilt University alumna, shares her thoughts on her GlamourGals career.
When I first got involved in GlamourGals my sophomore year of college, I hardly knew what to expect. All I really gathered was that the volunteers were super excited and passionate about working with seniors. Little did I know, it was a kind of service that I would grow to truly love. GlamourGals was my first real experience with leadership and the learning curve was difficult at times, even more so assuming the role of president this past year, but the organization and its values have shaped me immensely.
The world is so much bigger than any which one of us volunteers and fostering compassion, connection, and kindness is rewarding. Now a recent college graduate, I'll always look back on my time serving as a GlamourGal fondly, from bonding with board members to painting nails to meeting an endless array of wonderful people.
