Indianapolis, IN (September 21, 2012) – Indianapolis community members will join local celebrities as they engage in a GlamourGals Mega Makeover with the residents of Brookdale Senior Living's Robin Run Village on Saturday, September 29, at 11 a.m. Mega Makeovers are designed to spread awareness about the GlamourGals mission and to engage non-traditional volunteers in the community. GlamourGals has been hosting Mega Makeovers at Robin Run for nearly three years and look forward to participating in this event.
GlamourGals is grateful to have the support of “Indiana's Weatherman” Paul Poteet and Fox 59’s Anchorwoman Eva Pilgrim, as they will both be in attendance at this special makeover.
“It's an amazing experience that brings us together with something all girls (young and young at heart) love: makeup, facials and manicures!” Eva said. “It's a chance to learn from those who are wiser and see hope in the future.”
Students from the University of Indianapolis will be attending to celebrate the campus wide day of service taking place that day. Additionally, students from Heritage Christian High School in Indianapolis will be volunteering as well.
Hannah Austin, a local teen musician, will also be in attendance at the Mega Makeover to perform for the residents of Robin Run. A junior at Zionsville Community High School, Hannah has been playing guitar for five years and singing throughout the course of her life. The 16-year-old currently sings and plays guitar for the Youth Band of St. Monica in Indianapolis, as well as at recitals, reunions and at the Zionsville Farmer’s Market.
Photographs will be taken by Rachel Puga of SilverPlate Photography.
Indianapolis community members interested in attending should contact Julia Porter at julia at glamourgals.org.
