The GlamourGals Foundation Hosts Unprecedented Two-Day Leadership Event
Panel Discussion for supporters will precede training event for teen volunteers
Panel Discussion, Thursday, November 15, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

New York, NY (November 13, 2012) - The GlamourGals Foundation (GG) created the GlamourGals Leadership Training Institute (GLTI) nine years ago to help volunteers further their service and build skills. For the first time, GlamourGals is extending this leadership development opportunity to established professionals, by co-hosting a panel discussion featuring dynamic speakers, in partnership with Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP. With these two events, GlamourGals invests in the future success of both teens and supporters.

The panel discussion, "Investing in Your Future: Success in the 21st Century," will be moderated by Joya Dass, business anchor with NY1 News and CNN on Thursday, November 15. Panelists will discuss nontraditional methods for personal branding, as well as how success is defined in today's rapidly changing world. The event will begin with a statement from Kathy Hirata Chin, partner at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP. The panelists are GlamourGals Executive Board member, Jason M. Halper, also a partner at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP, Sarah Quinlan, CIO and partner at QAM, LLC and Shamina Singh, a senior advisor at MSL Group. Closing remarks for the evening will be presented by Rachel Mara Doyle, founder and president of GlamourGals.

On Saturday, November 17, over 100 volunteers from nearly 20 GlamourGals high school and college chapters across New York and New Jersey will take part in the GLTI. Speaking at the event will be Sarah Quinlan, Joya Dass, and Susan Schulz, a GG Advisory Board member, who is the editorial brand director of Cosmopolitan magazine. Also in attendance will be GG supporters, Alumni Council members, and chapter advisors.

"This event provides a unique opportunity for GlamourGals volunteers to come together to learn not only from one another, but also from GlamourGals alumni, board members and remarkable speakers." said Erika Engelson, a GG Advisory Board member, who is chairwoman of the event.

Collaborating with Erika and the GG staff to ensure the GLTI is a success is Advisory Board member Lindsey Smith, chairwoman of volunteer staff and Alumni Council member Vashti Barran, who is coordinator of programs for GLTI.

This unique two-day event allows GlamourGals to give back to volunteers and supporters and provide them with meaningful discussions and pertinent advice for continued success in their field or at their school.
