Maia, chapter President for the first ever Glamour Gals chapter in Massachusetts, shares her perspective on starting a chapter and planning Makeovers with her senior home. Welcome to Glamour Gals, Maia!
"The first step was to establish a chapter in my area, now that has been accomplished, and I look forward to uplifting residents’ lives through the makeovers. The rest home I currently volunteer at already has manicure Tuesdays, and the smile adorned by women on these days is so heartwarming and uplifting.
If even one woman gives me that same look on makeover day, I will know that I made the right choice in creating this chapter.
The friendships that I have already created with these residents will only continue to strengthen, as I divulge my full and unguided attention to them and their stories. Some residents do not have family members visiting them for a number of reasons, these ones often feel isolated, and this program will provide them with social integration they so richly require, and deserve.
