As someone who studies humans, I’ve learned that one of our greatest strengths is cumulative knowledge.

By engaging with seniors we are able to learn about their lives and experiences while also caring for our community. I love being able to chat with senior residents while brightening up their day with a manicure. I still reflect on a conversation I had with a resident when I volunteered at NYU. She talked about her experiences during the great depression, how she found love again after her husband passed away, and shared how she loved spending her time matchmaking. I remember being in awe, at the long life she lived and how she chose to spend her days supporting love.
