S.H.E. Summit Mega Makeover

On Wednesday, June 21, GlamourGals participated in S.H.E. Summit week by hosting a Mega Makeover at Visions Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Manhattan.

Over 20 seniors were given complimentary beauty makeovers and manicures. Not only were S.H.E. Summit participants present, but GG Correspondents and volunteers from the Hunter College Chapter came to lend support to some inspiring individuals.

"There's nothing better than just meeting new friends. My GlamourGals friends are the best, even if it's brief--I meet new ladies every time I come. It's always nice interacting and getting to know everybody. I share me with you. I don't usually do that," says Martha, a frequent GG makeover participant.

S.H.E. Summit participants who not participated in a GlamourGals makeover before were moved.
"I had a great time getting to know and connecting with truly inspiring people. The mask of the makeover melted away to natural meaningful conversation! What an awesome program!" says Julia Discenza.

"I've always been a volunteer, but my experience with GlamourGals was more than anything I've done before. It was "glamorous giving," says S.H.E. Summit participant, Donnette Noel. "I spent the afternoon giving a manicure to a woman who had a few lessons to teach me. We discussed books we read, the dances she could teach me, and the evolution of feminism. I was enchanted by my experience with GlamourGals and was pleased to be in the company of brilliant, creative women with a passion for philanthropy."

The video crew in attendance were also inspired, noting "What you guys are doing here is really amazing. I can't say it enough."

GlamourGals was excited to have the opportunity to participate in S.H.E. Summit Week!
