FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
New York, NY (November 18, 2013) - The GlamourGals Foundation (GG) created the GlamourGals Leadership Training Institute (GLTI) 10 years ago to empower our teen volunteers in their commitment to service and to further build their professional skills. This one-day event includes workshops, training sessions and speakers who will share their wisdom and inspiration with the GG volunteers.
Nearly 150 volunteers from twenty GlamourGals high school chapters across New York and New Jersey will take part in the GLTI. Speakers at this year's event include: Milly Silva, Executive Vice President of 1199 SEIU United Healthcare Workers East; Tiffany Dufu, Chief Leadership Officer at Levo League; Joey Lauren, Founder of Kissamint and a cast member of Bravo's “Princesses: Long Island;" Jason Halper, GlamourGals Executive Board Member and Partner at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP; and, Marisa Warren, a GlamourGals Advisory Board member and CEO and Founder of CAVALO Consulting LLC. Also in attendance will be GG supporters, alumni council members and chapter advisors.
“This amazing event brings together inspirational speakers, GG alumni and Board members to help further develop our volunteers into future leaders in the community and beyond,” said Erika Engelson, a GG Advisory Board member, who is Chairwoman of the event.
Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft LLP will be hosting the GLTI at their location in downtown Manhattan. GlamourGals is grateful for the continued support of Cadwalader, which also hosted the event last year. Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP has over 200 years of legal experience.
The GLTI allows GlamourGals to give back to its volunteers, to provide them with sound advice and the tools necessary to achieve success in the future.
